Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
g(x) = 2x/3 + 4
f(x) = x or more explicitly
f(x) = (1)x + 0
the new function has 2/3 the slope of the old function
and a y intercept greater by 4
general equation is
h(x) = mx + b where m=slope and b=y intercept
graphically, f(x)=x is a 45 degree line, diagonally going through the origin (0,0) with y intercept = 0
g(x) = (2/3)x+4 is a little less steep, it's the angle tan^-1(2/3), the angle whose tangent is 2/3
reduce the angle and shift it up by 4 and you go from f(x) to g(x)
the angle whose tangent is 2/3 is about 33.69 degrees, about 11.31 degrees less than the original line
