1: A devout halloweener not only dressed as an astronaut, but travelled to the moon for the

full experience. The astronaut jumps on the moon with an initial upward velocity of 2.3m/s.

(our class average for the Jump mini Lab) If the acceleration of gravity on the moon is

-1.62m/s2, what is the highest the astronaut jumps? What is the hang time?

2: The DeLorean just had some repairs and is out for a test drive. It accelerates uniformly at

1.5 m/s² from rest to 39m/s. Immediately upon reaching 39m/s (before time travel which

occurs at 88mph), the brakes are applied, and it stops 2.5 s later. Find the total distance

traveled.
