Hi,
1) distribute: 5a -ax = bx -8
2) all terms include x must be at the left and other right
-ax -bx = -5a -8 Both side times (-1) (optional) for getting rid of negative coefficient
ax + bx = 5a + 8 left side factor of x
x( a + b ) = 5a + 8 Both sides divide by coefficient of x it means (a+b)
x= ( 5a +8 ) / ( a + b)
I hope it is useful.
