first problem: x=2, y=4
2nd" x=0, y=6
x=y-2
2y-4+y=8
3y=12
y = 12/3 = 4
x = y-2 = 4-2 = 2
y=2x+6
4x-4x-12 = -12
x=0
y = 2(0)+6=6

If you seek success...I am here to help
The solution set for the 1st set of equations is the point where the lines intersect (2, 4)
Check each for your assurance:
I rewrote each equation for y:
y = x + 2 AND y = -2x + 8
If you plug the x value (2) for the common point, the value of y (4) is the answer
4 = 2 + 2 CHECK AND 4 = -2(2) + 8 CHECK
For the 2nd set of lines, If you rewrote them in the slope-intercept form (y = mx +b) you will see that its the same equation...TRY IT :)
y = 2x + 6
The solution set for those equation(s) can be the y-intercept (0, 6) or any point on the line really.
Check (0, 6); 6 = 2(0) + 6, 6 = 6 CHECK
Hope this helps
