If I understand the equation given (with p = pi)...it is T2 = 4p3a3 / GM
If yes, then to solve for M is basically a fancy way to say rewrite the expression so that you are solving for the value of M in terms of the other variables. Use cross multiplication to get the variables GM out of the denominator on the RHS
T2GM = 4p3a3
To isolate M (solve for it), you divide (factor out) T2G from the LHS and divide it through on the RHS. Remember, what you do to ONE side you do the OTHER T2G becomes the denominator on the RHS.
The final expression is:
M = 4p3a3 / T2G
