Hi Eileen,
To solve the equation G - 8 = 25, you need to find the number that you would "start with" and subtract 8 that would give you a solution of 25.
In math terms, using inverses will help you identify this number. The inverse of subtraction is addition, so we can add 8 to both sides of the equation to determine G:
G - 8 = 25
G - 8 + 8 = 25+ 8
G = 33
To check: 33 - 8 = 25
