The volleyball team is having a car wash fundraiser to buy new uniforms. They spent $25 on supplies and charge $8 for every car they wash. How many cars will they have to wash in order to raise $300 for their uniforms?

Let c = the number of cars they have to wash and u = the amount of money they make.
c is the independent variable and u is the dependent variable(the amount of money they make is DEPENDENT on how many cars they wash.
The domain is [0,∞). They may not wash any cars, but they can't wash a negative number of cars.
The range is [-25,∞). If they wash no cars, they are down $25.
u = 8c - 25
I'm not going to draw a mapping diagram, but hopefully you can see that c = 0 points to u = -25, c = 1 points to u = -17, etc. Graph said points.
Hopefully you see this is a continuous function and find the c-value (as a whole number) that is at or above u = 300.
