O.K., Here is some helpful information to get you started:
1.A factory's production is modeled by function f(x), where f(x) is the number of parts produced per hour and x is the number of people working during production. Choose the ordered pair that represents a possible domain and range of the function.
A (−1, 15)
B (5, −50)
C(−10, −100) (
D 5, 10)
The ordered pairs are in the form of (x,f(x)). That is, (people, parts). Obviously, neither x or f(x) can be negative, right?
2.A telephone company charges a fixed monthly rate plus a rate per megabyte of data used. The company charges $135 for 100 megabytes of data and $375 for 500 megabytes of data. An equation can be written to show the relationship between the total megabytes used (x) and the total monthly charges (y). Which of the following best describes the steps to draw the graph?
A Draw a graph that joins the points (135, 100) and (375, 500) and has a slope = 0.6
BDraw a graph that joins the points (100, 135) and (500, 375) and has a slope = 0.6
C Draw a graph that joins the points (100, 135) and (500, 375) and has a slope = 1.67
D Draw a graph that joins the points (135, 100) and (375, 500) and has a slope = 1.67
The data points are (100,135) and (500,375). That slope is (change in y) / (change in x).
3.Choose the equation that represents the line passing through the point (−2, −3) with a slope of −6.
A y = −6x − 15
B y = −6x − 20
Cy = −6x + 15
Dy = −6x + 20
The slope-intercept form of the equation of a line looks like: y = mx+b
where m is the slope and p is the y-intercept (the value of y when x=0).
Use m=-6 and plug in (-2,-3) to calculate b.
4.Which of the following statements best describes the effect of replacing the graph of f(x) with the graph of f(x) − 3?
A The graph shifts 3 units up.
B The graph shifts 3 units down.
CThe graph shifts 3 units left.
DThe graph shifts 3 units right.
If f(x) is replaced by f(x)-3, then every point on the curve will be 3 units less than before.
5.Given the function f(x) = −3x2 + 4x + 6, find f(2) and f(3). Choose the statement that is true concerning these two values.
A The value of f(2) is the same as the value of f(3).
BThe value of f(2) cannot be compared to the value of f(3).
CThe value of f(2) is smaller than the value of f(3).
D The value of f(2) is larger than the value of f(3).
Plug in x=2 and x=3 and select the right answer.
f f(x) is the height, in cm, of a sunflower plant that is x days old, which of the following statements best describes the meaning of f(60) = 210?
A The height of the sunflower plant is 60 cm when it is 210 days old.
B The height of the sunflower plant is 210 cm when it is 60 days old.
C The height of the sunflower plant is 210 cm when it is 3.5 days old.
DThe height of the sunflower plant is 60 cm when it is 3.5 days old.
f(x) is the height, in cm, of a sunflower plant that is x days old,
6.A car manufacturer is reducing the number of incidents with the transmission by issuing a voluntary recall. During week 3 of the recall, the manufacturer fixed 391 cars. In week 13, the manufacturer fixed 361 cars. Assume that the reduction in the number of cars each week is linear. Write an equation in function form to show the number of cars seen each week by the mechanic.
Af(x) = 3x + 400
B f(x) = 3x + 391
C f(x) = −3x + 391
D f(x) = −3x + 400
f(x) = show the number of cars seen each week
Points are (3,3911) and (13,361). Which formula do they fit?

Hi Kevin,
#1) The point D(5,10) only makes sence since x should the natural number for number of people and f(x) should be not negative for the number of the production units.
For ##2-6 I recommend to take a lesson, because you need to study the material related to these problems.
With best regards,
