m=(y2-y1) / (x2 -x1)
m=(-4- (-2)) / (1- (-6))
m= -2/7
choose a point (1,-4)
f(x)=mx+b
-4=-2/7*1+b
b=-4+2/7
b=-26/7
f(x)=-2/7x-26/7

Let The equation be
y = mx+b
Passing through (-6,-2) and (1,-4)
Plug in First Point
-2 = m(-6) +b
or -2 = -6m +b ......... Eq 1
Plug in Second point
-4 = m + b ................ Eq 2
Solve these two Equations for m and b
Gives b= -26/7
m= -2/7
So equation is
Y = -2/7 m- 26/7
7Y = -2m -26
