The domain is the set of all possible independant ('input') values.
Since the output depends on what you put into it (input);
The total cost of gas depends on the number of gallons put in the vehicle;
Then we can determine that the total cost of gas is the 'output' and the number of gallons put in the vehicle is the 'input'.
The domain would be all the possibilities of how much gas can be put in the vehicle, so- how much gas can the tank hold? What is the least amount possible to put in the tank? (Zero). The domain is the set of all values from zero to the maximum possible gallons of gas the tank can hold.
Just substitute what the maximum value is and you are done.
