Hopefully you realize the x-coordinate is horizontal and the y-coordinate is vertical.
If you translate left 2 units, where does that take you?
Reflection over the y-axis puts your point on the other side of the y-axis, equidistant from where it was on the other side. In other words, your x-coordinate will be opposite.
As an example...
(5,8) translated 4 units right takes us to (9,8) and then reflection over the y-axis gives us (-9,8).
