Hi, my name is Kim and I don't believe in being boring!
Hi Christine,
The main differences are as follows:
Hinduism - polytheistic (believe in many gods), caste system, key issue is to get out of cycle of reincarnation
Buddhism - don't have to believe in God or gods, against caste system, key issue is to avoid suffering
Confucianism - not a religion but a philosophy, focused on key human relationships in society, key issue is to bring about order in society.
Thus Buddhism challenges the Hindu belief that the caste system is good and that you have to worship the gods. Buddhism challenges Confucianism because the answer to problems is found in killing your desire (in order to avoid suffering) not in maintain appropriate social relationships.
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have more questions.
