Okay, I try to explain: You have

0.02x+p=60.

Now all you have to to is to express x in terms of p or in other words find x w.r. to p.

0.02x+p=60.

0.02x=60-p or 2x=6000-100p multiply both sides by 100, now divide both sides by 2: x=3000-50p

Now x is a function of p: x=x(p)=3000-50p
