Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
2.5 x .98 = 2.45
10.00-2.45 = $7.55 in change
multiply the number of pounds times the price per pound to get the total cost
then subtract that $2.45 from $10 to get $7.55 in change
2.5 x .98 is almost 2.5 x 1 = 2.50, but slightly less, by a nickel
2 1/2 subtracted from 10 is 7 1/2 or $7.50 but add a nickel, to get $7.55 in change
