Getting the foundation right
This is a trick question. The mean is the average, which you find by adding the amounts and dividing by the number of amounts. Since there are two amounts and you're also multiplying by two, the division and multiplication cancel each other out. So you're left with the two amounts you started with. Combine them and get your answer.
