Given the formula
V = lwh
V = l x w x h
You just want set up the formula to solve for the variable in question. I think the question you are asked to do is see if you understand how to manipulate the formula.
You want to get h on one side of the equation
Multiply both sides by the inverse of w and l
V x 1/l x 1/w = 1/l x 1/w x(l x w x h)
The l and w in the numerators and denominators will cancel out on side of the Equation
V x 1/l x 1/w = 1/l x 1/w x(l x w x h)
V/(lw) = h
So the volume divided by the length times the width should give you the height.
