Well the equation is
CH4 + 2 O2 = CO2 + 2 H20
So with 9 moles of CH4 and 3 moles of O2, all the O2 will react giving 1.5 moles of CO2 (2 O2 forms 1 CO2). Only 1.5 moles of CH4 will react leaving 7.5 moles unreacted .
So 1.5 moles of CO2 produced.
