1. The equation 3x+2y=8 is multiplied by two on both sides creating the second equation 6x+4y=16. Explain why both equations have the same pair of solutions (x,y).

Try graphing them. You get the same line, the same identical line

Put them in point slope formula or slope y-intercept form. You get the same slope for both and the same y-intercept.

It's the same situation as x= 1 and 2x = 2. They both are the same line graphically, and with the same solution set, x=1, 2(1)=2.
