There are a few ways to tackle this. One way is to swap the x's and y's. The solve for y.
x=(y+4)/(y+9)
Multiple both sides by y+9
x(y+9)=y+4
Distribute the x
xy+9x=y+4
Get your y terms on one side and x terms on the other
xy-y=4-9x
Factor a y out
y(x-1)=4-9x
Divide both sides by x-1
y=(4-9x)/(x-1)
