speed going = r1=10, speed coming back = r2=25
Let time going = T, Let time coming back = 7-T
then 10T = 25(7-T) as the distance is the same each way
solve for T
10T = 175 - 25T
35T = 175
T = 175/35 = 35/7= 5 hours going
7-T=7-5 = 2 hours coming back
5x50 = 250 miles
2x25= 250 miles coming back
grand total 500 miles traveled
