Write an expression that represents the total number of miles completed by each biker n hours after 7 a.m.

On a long-distance biking trip, Annike started biking at 7 a.m., and her average speed was 11 miles per hour. Celia started at 8 a.m., and her average speed was 14 miles per hour.

A for the first person, C for the second person


A = 11(n) note: she starts right at 7, so just n hours x her average speed

C = 14(n-1) as she has one less hour after 7am (i.e. she loses one hour by starting at 8am)


A = 11n

C = 14n-14
