3.50x > 3.00x + 4.00

0.50x > 4.00

Graph both of the equations and see that both will intersect at 8 candies @ $28. It is better for you to buy candies from Chocolate Bliss as opposed to Expressions in Sweets because of price. You can buy more candies when they are cheap and if you don't pay too much on other fees. Therefore, you will need to purchase more than 8 candies from Chocolate Bliss in order for you to pay less than from Expressions in Sweets.

Above and below that break even point you will have an advantage with one of the manufacturers for cost.

CB= 3x + 4

E = 3.5x+ 0

Set equal to each other and solve for x

3.5x = 3x + 4

.5x=4

x = 8 (at 8 candies, both will cost you $28)

At 9 candies, CB company will be less expensive than E company. You can see this if you graph it, or you put in 9 for x in each of the equations above.
