Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
Not sure I follow the question. But first part is S=5J-3 where S= Sarah's age, J=Jasmine's age
total 51 seems to mean S+J=51 or S=51-J
substitute that last equation into the first to get
51-J = 5J-3 or
6J=54
J=54/6= 9
S=5x9-3 = 45-3 = 42
Not sure how the 80 fits in though.

I can understand and provide an answer for the first part of this (Sarah is three less than five times as old as Jasmine-), but I can't make sense of the second part (-together to 80 total 51 how old is Sarah). Could you please clarify?09/01/20
