Rental price is $54.50 per day

# of days renting is 9 days

Since sandy is paying $54.50 FOR EACH DAY you must multiply this by the 9 days the she will have the car

$490.50 is the rental rate for 9 days. This DOES NOT include the additional fee of 16 1/2 cents per mile.

Part two

Additional fee per mile: $0.165 (16 1/2 cents)

Miles expected to drive: 670 miles

Since Sandy is paying $0.165 for each mile you must multiply this by the 670 miles she will be traveling

110.55 is the additional fee that Sandy will pay. This DOES NOT include the initial fee, which we calculated in part one.

Part three

Now we have to add the 2 rates together to get the total amount that Sandy will pay the car company.

+ $110.55
