You have been offered two different jobs. Job A would pay you $12 an hour but a bonus at the end of the month of $100. Job B would pay you $16 an hour but would have no bonus offered.

Here 2 different Job offered to you

but for both jobs A and B we dont know how many total hours you have to work in a month ,

lets say total amount of hours you work for both of the job types is x

In 1 hour you are getting $12 ......

in x hour you are getting 12* x = 12x

lets assume total amount of money you earn in a month is Y

so from the above condition for job A, we get the equation , Y = 12x + 100......(1)..

for Job B, we get the equation , Y = 16x...............(2)..

To start answering this, let's think about job A - it pays $12 an hour and a $100 bonus each month, how much do you make for one hour worked? Two? Three? What's the pattern?
