Jenny is 13 years older than her sister Myra. Myra is 6 Years younger than her sister Melody. Their combined ages equal 88 years. How old is Myra?
I wanna study more problems like this for my ASVAB but i don't know what kind of math it is.

We can say Jenny's age = Myra's age + 13
Myra's age = Melody's age - 6, which can also be written to say that Melody's age = Myra's age + 6
Now, let m = Myra's age
Then Jenny's age = m + 13, and Melody's age = m + 6
If their combined ages have a sum of 88, then we can form the equation:
(m + 13) + m + (m + 6) = 88
3m + 19 = 88
3m = 69
m = 23 = Myra's age
