We start by setting up an equation for the cost (C) of each provider in terms of number of months (m).
Verizon has a one-time set-up fee of $40, meaning we will have a constant of 40 added onto the monthly cost of $60. Because the $60 is charged monthly, we multiply it by the number of months.
CVerizon = 40 + 60*m
AT&T has no set-up fee, so the cost equation is just the monthly cost.
CAT&T = 80*m
We want to find when the two cost the same, aka when CVerizon = CAT&T.
From there you should be able to substitute in the previous equations to find the equation in terms of m, and you should be able to solve for m as well if needed.
