2(x+2) = 2? * 4
2(x+2) = 2? * 22
= 2(?+2)
2(x+2) = 2(?+2)
x+2 = ?+2
? = x
2(x+2) / 4 = 2(x+2) / 22 = 2(x+2) - 2 = 2x. So, ? = x.

2^x + 2 = 4*2^? <--- multiplies both sides by 4;
2^x + 2 = 2^2 *2^?
2^(x+2) = 2^(?+2)
?=x
