Graphing Parabolas in All forms e.g y=4 (x-4)^2 -3

Please I really need math help, I have tried really hard to get this question but I always end up even more confused than I was went I tried the problem the first time.

As Michael said. Make a table.

 

For y=(x-4)²-3

 

Pick some strategic x values and calculate y. 

 

x       y

0      13

4      -3

5      -2

 

Plot the points. Try it.

y=(x-4)²-3

 

This function is similar to y=x².  Therefore, draw a curve that goes down and then up through the point (0,0).  This curve will be a reflection about the y-axis.  Then, you shift that curve 4 units to the right and then 3 units down.

 

 

Another method is to plot the points by choosing x values and evaluating them for y.
