Writing is a skill that takes stamina as well as consistent practice and self-evaluation. Just like reading or running, the more you do it, the faster and stronger you become. It is also important to challenge yourself with new and creative questions daily. Some categories you can look up include: research-based, narrative, creative, scientific, or short story writing prompts. This allows for different levels of commitment each day when you write.
My suggestion is to write every single day for at least 30 minutes. Specifically for the IELTs or TOEFL, you can look up example questions. I also suggest feedback from a tutor, peer, or family member!
If you want to expand the way you think, follow this schedule.
Monday- Long term research essay
Tuesday- IELTS /TOFEL question
Wednesday- Creative writing prompt
Thursday- IELTS /TOFEL question
Friday- Short story writing prompt
Saturday- Research & vocabulary expansion
Sunday- Revise and Edit all work using CUPS & ARMS strategy
