The first equation is: X + Y = 24 ( this shows that the total number of boxes = 24)
The second equation is: 45X + 75Y = 1410 ( this is because the small box weighs 24 pounds and big box weighs 75 pounds. The total weight of the small boxes is 45 times the weight of each individual box. And the total weight of the second boxes is equal to 75Y.
