Use the distance formula.
d = √[(x2 - x1)2 + (y2 - y1)2]
x1 = 2
y1 = 1
x2 = 14
y2 = 6
Plug in the numbers and evaluate d.

Problems like this are frequently 'Pythagorean Triples'. If you subtract 2 from 14, you get one leg of a right 'triangle', just as 6 minus 1 gives the other leg. The distance between points is a common Pythagorean Triple. You could also use the distance formula, as provided by another expert answer. Good Luck!07/22/20
