I assume that you want to find the total time that would result from adding these two periods of tome together.

First, 2 years + 8 years is equivalent to 10 years.

Then, 7 months + 8 months is equivalent to 15 months.

There are 12 months in 1 year, so we an say that 15 months is equivalent to 1 year and 3 months.

Also, 3 months is equivalent to 1/4 of a year.

As a result , the total time would be 10 years + 1 year + 1/4 year OR 11 and 1/4 years
