You set up the equilibrium calculation as follows: K=[C[/[A]. Bis a solid and does not participate in the equilibrium reaction. You express the concentration is M (moles/L) so 13.7/5.90=2.32 M , the concentration of A. Set up an ICE table as follows:
[A] [C]
initial 2.32 M ---
change -x +x
equilibrium 2.32-x x
So, 9.40= x/2.32-x, solve for x, x=2.10. At equilibrium [C]=2.10 M. To check put in the equilibrium concentrations and you should get a number close to 9.4.. K=2.10/(2.32-2.10)=9.54, close considering rounding off of results.

I am going fuzzy on my high school algebra, can you expand on the solving x step. I am sure it is something simple, I am just a step behind at this part.03/20/21
