What is the 30th term of the sequence?

X: 1, 2, 3, 4, 30

Y: 4, 8, 12 ,16, ?

Sequences are tricky, at least for me. What I like to do is look at the x and the y in pairs to see how to get from x to y.

So, how do you get from 1 to 4?

How do you get from 2 to 8?

How do you get from 3 to 12?

From 4 to 16?

See the pattern? Keep looking until the same answer works for all of those questions.

So then if you start with 30, do that same thing and where do you get?

Just continue multiplying the x numbers by 4 and you’ll get the answer for 30 th part
