If it is
g(x) = 3x - 8,
then x = 3 gives
3(3) - 8 = 9 - 8 = 1.
If it is
g(h) = 3h - 8,
then h = 3 gives
3(3) - 8 = 9 - 8 = 1.
Either way, g(3) gives 1, so there has to be a typo in the original problem where it mixes h and x.

You have 2 variables here, x and h. Did you mean to say g(x)=3x-8 or g(h)=3h-8 ?07/03/20
