Fun Doctor of Music from Yale for all levels of Piano and Singing!
Most people's biggest fear in giving a speech is that they will forget what to say next, or lose their place if they are reading their speech. Some students fear that they will stutter, or their voice will get shaky or when in front of a crowd.
The best way to prepare for the unexpected is to try out your speech on friends, family, and to video yourself so you can watch it back and fix what you don't like in your presentation! Make sure you over rehearse your speech sometimes under less than ideal conditions- such as fresh out of bed in the morning, or at the end of a tiring day. Even if you are using notes or a script, the more memorized you are, the more comfortable you will be!
