To find the change of temperature, subtract the first temperature from the latest temperature.
The first temperature was -8. The latest temperature is 3.
3 - (-8)
3 + 8
11 is the change of temperature.
For the temperature to go from -8 (which is 8 degrees below zero) to zero would be a change of 8 degrees. Then when the temperature goes from zero to 3, there is a change of 3.
Therefore a total change of 11.
