Shifting functions

F(x)=x(squared) find the formula of the function g. It shifts right 2 and up 2

Eric S.

Actually it shifts right 3 and up 2. I came up with g(x)= x(squared)-6x+11. But it says it’s wrong

Hard to describe without seeing the graph, but It was 3 right and 2 up from 0 at f(x) buuut, it opens down, so I needed a negative in front of my original formula. I had to send a pic to someone. Thanks for the reply though!

Why do you say it opens down? If the coefficient of the x^2 term is positive, the parabola opens up. For f(x)=x^2 translated right 3 and up 2, the new g(x)=(x-3)^2+2. Was the question uploaded correctly?
