A rectangular room is  times as long as it is wide, and its perimeter is  meters. Find the dimension of the room.

Answer 1

w = width

l = length = 2*width = 2w

perimeter = 2*l + 2w = 26

substitute 2w for l in above equation

2*(2w) + 2w = 26

6w = 26

w = 4 1/3 m

l = 2w = 8 2/3 m
