The average retail price of gas in America from 1979 to 2008 can be modeled by the function
P (x) = 0.008x3 - 0.307x2 + 4.38x + 25.72
Where P is the price of gas in cents per litre and x is the number of years after 1979
Determine the average price of gas in 2002.

I'm going to assume you made a typo entering the equation and that the second term should be squared instead of cubed so that:
P(x) = 0.008x3 - 0.307x2 + 4.38x + 25.72
2002 - 1979 = 23
P(23) = 0.008(23)3 - 0.307(23)2 + 4.38(23) + 25.72 = 61.393 cents/liter
Since this is not one of the choices, please double check your typing on the equation. Perhaps there is another error.

Is that first term correct? It is strange to have 2 terms with x^3.06/15/20
