Based on your dimensions, we have a rectangular prism. Let's set length as l=11 in, width as w=3 in, and height as h=6 in. You can do label them any way you'd like, but for this answer this is how I will do it. Surface area is used to add up all areas and all surfaces of the object. For all surfaces, we find the area of a rectangle by multiplying length times width. Since surfaces directly across from each other have the same length and width, we can take shortcuts to get the surface area of the whole prism.
SA = 2 (lw + hl + hw)
SA = 2 [ (11)(3) + (6)(11) + (6)(3) ]
SA = 2 ( 33 + 66 + 18 )
SA = 2 (117)
SA = 234
What units do we use to label surface area? Since it is an AREA, we square the given units. So the answer is 234 inches squared.
