The y-intercept is where the line (or curve) crosses the y-axis. Notice the y-axis is also the vertical line x=0.
Set x=0 to find the y-intercept: 2(0) + 3y = 6 --> 3y = 6 --> 3y/3 = 6/3 ---> y=2
Similarly, the x-intercept is where the line or curve crosses the x-axis, and the x-axis correponds to the horizontal line y=0. Set y=0 to find the x-intercept. 2x + 3(0) = 6 --> x=3
