Hi Carly. You can set up a proportion between 2 fractions for this.
You can make it kilometer portion/ miles portion = miles actual / kilometers actual.
Next is .62 / 1.0 = x / 850. Cross multiply, and you get .62 times x 850 = x times 1.0. That becomes 527 = 1.0 x.
Therefore, the distance in miles is 527.
