Hello, take a look below:
There are 32 cases, each containing 8 cans of soup. How many total cans are there?
32 x 8 = 256 cans
Each shelf can have 9 cans on it. 9 goes into 256 how many times?
256 / 9 = 28.444
Would you need 28 shelves of 29 shelves?
28 shelves would mean that some cans would not be on a shelf. 29 shelves would mean that one shelf will not be fully filled. We pick 29 shelves so that all cans are on a shelf.
