Sean invite some friends over for a pizza and a movie. He makes a small cheese pizza for himself and a large pepperoni pizza for his friends. Sean uses 0.75 pounds of dough for the cheese pizza and twice as much though for the pepperoni pizza. How much does dough does Sean use in all?
1 Expert Answer
The amount of dough used for the pepperoni will be twice that of the cheese or 2 times the amount of dough.
2 • 0.75 = 1.5 pounds for the pepperoni.
The total will be the sum of the amount for the cheese pizza and the amount needed pepperoni:
0.75 + 1.5 = 2.25 pounds of dough for both pizzas

Sean uses 0.75 pounds of dough for the cheese pizza and twice as much though for the pepperoni pizza. So, .75 (the small pizza) + 2(.75) the large pizza will give us the amount needed. Your equation would look like this .75+2(.75)=x The words "in all" mean that we need to add the amounts together, so small pizza plus large pizza give us total amount of dough.06/06/20
