You would multiply each cost by how many of those items Elena would want. So if she wants 3 pencils, and each pencil is $0.30 each, then 3 times $0.30 would give you how much Elena would need to buy the pencils which is $0.90.
1 hat at $14.50 would be $14.50, and 2 binders times $3.20 for each binder would give you $6.40.
$0.90+$14.50+$6.40= $21.80
