Question 3. Function h gives the height of a tennis ball, t seconds after it is tossed up in the air. The equation h(t)= -16t^2 + 12t + 10 defines function h. Wrote and solve an equation to find when the ball hits the ground. Show/Explain your reasoning.

Add 49 to each side of the equation:

x² + 14x + 49 = 3

(x+7)² = 3

You should be able to answer from here.

In part 2, simply plug in the values to the quadratic formula which is given.

In part 3 set the equation for h=0 and solve for t using any method you wish (factoring, quadratic formula)
