Find the speed of two trains

Two trains going in opposite directions leave the same station at the same time. One train travels 35 mph slower than the other. In 8 hours the trains are 1080 miles apart. Find the speed of each train.

v = speed of fast train

v - 35 = speed of slow train

t = travel time = 8

d = distance between them = 1080

vt + (v - 35)t = d

t = 8

d = 1080

8v + 8(v - 35) = 1080
