 The students in Mr. E’s 4th and 6th period Algebra classes took the same test. The results of the scores are shown in the following table:

Based on these data, which class has the largest spread of test scores? Explain how you arrived at your answer?

Looking at the chart the 4th period class had the largest range based on the standard deviation. The smaller the standard deviation the more clustered are the scores and smaller the range.

Period 4 had the larger standard deviation so the scores would be more spread out.
